    1. IN TAMPA BAY, UBER STOPPED PUBLISHING RATES ON ITS APP

.........so, you can not even compare their rates to any other services in the area,- it's like a selling rabbit in the hat,-- CALL UBER FIRST AND AFTER TRIP HAS BEEN COMPLETED YOU WILL FIND OUT HOW MUCH YOU OWE.
      REALLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????
UBER DECISION MAKERS MUST BE ON CRACK or they are blinded by corporate GREED
      What NEXT?

    3. "where can I find uber fare calculator for Florida?"
well, these days Uber prefers to keep public and own drivers in the dark about uber rates and their app give "ESTIMATES" only, eg. trip from Downtown St Pete to Tampa Airport could be anything between $28 and $39, that of course if there is no slow traffic on the bridge and uber driver knows what he is doing, otherwise your uber bill might run up to over $100

    5. "If you don't like uber rates, why don't you find yourself better paying job ?"

I had really good fucking job for last 10 years until uber arrived and start to operate illegally and do whatever fuck they want with rates, laws and regulations, which still apply to all cab drivers and taxi companies
THIS IS FUCKING TRADE DISCRIMINATION AGAINST TAXI DRIVERS WHICH IS ALLOWED BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES .
WTF, is this America or FUCKING ZIMBABWE?
Indians in India have more common sense than fucking local politicians
      and are less corrupt ,

    6. How do you compare cab driver to Uber driver?
      100 years of evolution
........and uber driver is 100 years behind with understanding of concept of costs involved for driving people around, responsibilities, communication with customers, - those drunk, retarded, on skid row, with a gun in their pocket, etc.

"I spent countless nights in my taxi cab in St Petersburg, FL and it had never crossed my mind to write poetry about taxi driving……yet, Mr James, an veteran cab driver from Singapore said “Let’s go, I am a cabby, what else could they say or do to take away my pride? treat me like a shit? cheat me? or look at me as some kind of lower form of evolution ?”

Thank you Mr. James for being so eloquently outspoken and at the same time standing for rights of all taxi drivers around the world, thank you for your poetry Sir /

    7. Uber Joke
Aspiring uber driver comes to social media run by uber people and asks a question
"How to become an uber driver in Florida?"
...and before any of uber staff has a chance to answer it, one of frustrated former uber drivers posts
"hey dude, if you really want to work for uber, all you have to do is to pull your pants down and bend over ..:)"

    9. Why Uber drivers are more dangerous than cab drivers..........
besides obvious things like lack of knowledge of the area, lack of experience dealing with different kind of customers, lack of insurance (proper commercial insurance protecting passenger and public on the streets at all times), lack of understanding on how to maintain commercial vehicle used for public transportation., etc, etc
We tend to overlook most dangerous aspect related to uber operation and this is usage of uber app and GPS while driving..............

    10. buber just lowered its rates in Tampa Bay again this time to 65 cents a mile !!!!
......HOW STUPID OR desperate someone MUST BE to drive for this kind of money? LOL

  2. Uber just slashed their rates by 25% a couple of weeks ago.

Translation: They arbitrarily cut their drivers pay by 25%.

When I drove for a traditional company, I hated Medicaid runs, because they only paid about half of what the meter would read. Now, with Uber, they're ALL Medicaid runs. Not to mention, Uber says no tipping, so you rarely get a tip.

I'm still with them, but probably not for long.

    1. with rates like these and tips included, you can not make money driving people around with uber !!!
if you take into consideration all the costs involved like
%20 uber cut, gas, insurance, repairs, car usage, car wash, etc. you going to be left with profit of $0.25-$0.30 per mile, IT'S A SIMPLE MATH

Expect quality of drivers and their IQ to drop down sharply.....quality of service will suffer too

basically it says, "fuck you drivers, we can do as we pleased", "we can try to make you work for free too"

"Summer always ends too quickly - this year that is especially true as Uber TAMPA saw demand soar!

A few months ago, we announced Uber's summer demand experiment. Uber discounted rider fares by 25% while continuing to pay commission on the full fare to partners. Uber invested millions of dollars to discover the best prices for maximum demand while ensuring that partner revenue would not be negatively affected as a result of the tests.

The tests worked - rider demand has been so strong recently that top uberX partners made over 15% more over the last 4 weeks than they did all of May! And the best news is things only get better from here - with September approaching, we are now entering the busiest time of the year. Vacations are ending, football season is beginning, and students are returning!

LOWERED PRICES = MORE DEMAND THAN EVER

Uber's summer rider promotion is coming to an end, so to continue record growth on uberX, we’re decreasing uberX prices by roughly 20%. Cancellation fees will not change. The new rates, effective Thursday, August 28th at 5pm, are as follows:

      Base: $1.25
      Per mile: $1.20
      Per minute: $0.13
      Minimum trip: $4.00
      Cancellation fee: $5.00

Given this knowledge we have from extensive data from over 200 cities worldwide, we’re confident the new prices will continue to grow your rider base and ensure uberX remains the best way to get a ride.

      LABOR DAY GUARANTEES $$$

We are confident that your demand and revenue will continue to grow dramatically come September - but why should you have to wait until then? We know you like the flexibility of driving when you want and how often you want. Starting with the price change, we’re so confident of the increase in demand that we are offering a $$$ guarantee!
Each night of Labor Day weekend from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31, we will GUARANTEE that you will make at least a certain gross fares per hour, for the hours of 5pm to 4am.
For the hours of 5pm - 10pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening, we will GUARANTEE you will make at least $10 per hour in gross fares
For the hours of 10pm - 4am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, we will GUARANTEE you will make at least $15 per hour in gross fares
To become eligible for the guarantee, you must satisfy the following requirements:
      Accept 80% of all requests
Fares must come from Downtown area in Tampa or St. Petersburg
Must be logged online and ready to accept fares for full-hour increments
YOU MUST OPT-IN HERE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR GUARANTEES

Remember, if you meet the requirements, you keep whichever is greater: the fares you make or the Hourly Guarantee! This means if you work during the Hourly Guarantee periods for all three nights, we GUARANTEE that you will make at least $420!

Incentive payments will appear as a miscellaneous payment on your payment statements on Monday, September 8th. Please note, the guarantees will not be reflected on your trips dashboard online or on your phone.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership. We will be working every day to grow demand and your revenue. We’re always eager to answer questions or hear your feedback - for 24/7 support, email us at partnersTAMPA@uber.com.

This morning I was only car on the map (probably because of heavy rain) and
the map was lit with orange color which is supposed to indicate high demand and surge price in effect for orange area. In this case the whole Pinellas county was orange yet I was paid regular rate of $1.20 / mile on the couple of calls I did in that area.
Does anyone know why this happened and why I did not get the promised surge rate? Thanks

  11. NEW UBER's MUMBO JUMBO rates to confuse drivers and make them slaves of Kalanick

"We now have HIGHWAY as an option, and at the great rate of $99 that could end with 6 hours and a 200 mile round trip, I don't care if you have an electric car……how stupid do you have to be to sign up for this and except a ping….on a Friday ? I would rather sit in the dentist chair. I think the next Orlando option will be CHARITY trips, drivers can get 1/10 rating points back for excepting CHARITY pings and have to pay Uber a flat rate of $10 no matter how long or short the trip is, who's in? looks like a bunch of tards signed up for highway so I think CHARITY will be a hit also."

p.s. what about other UberX drivers, who on 100 miles one way trip could make $120
while regular taxi fare would be ~ $220 - $250+ TIP

UBER DRIVERS ARE GETTING FUCKED AGAIN BY "future of transportation" LOL

ARE YOU MAKING those $35-40 AN HOUR YET ???!! OR 50K -100K a year with Uber ?

  12. I don't know where this person who developed their blogs gets the information? In Jacksonville, FL UBERX has a base rate of $1.00+.75/mile+.13 a minute. They take 20% of that. UBERXL does operate here. $3.00 base+ 1.50/mile and .25 a minute. Uber takes 28%. This is outrageous!!!!!! I have worked for a regular taxi service for a few years and made a base rate of 2.00 then 2.00 a mile and .40 a minute. Yes, the cabs sucked!! But now I drive a luxury vehicle that I have to keep super clean which is expensive and I get paid half of what I use to make. Not to mention, no tips!!!! I tip my waiter, my hairdresser, the bag boy at the grocery store. These people don't have the enormous expenses we have but yet UBER encourages them not to tip. In addition, we have these people's lives in our hands!! You can tip your hair dresser or nail tech but you can't tip me to insure that I get you where you need to go safely? I am absolutely disgusted with UBER . San Francisco is trying to team up with the Teamsters Union. We here in Florida should do the same. Why in the hell am I paying UBER 20% of my UBER X fares and 28% of my UBER XL fares? Are they paying for my gas? My insurance? My cleaning fees? The water and mints I provide for my customers? fuck no!!! I think UBER should go.

    1. dude, as a uber driver, you don't have insurance required by law......actually you don't have insurance at all, because if you get involved in serious accident, your insurance company will refuse to pay for damages,.......
why? because you are committing insurance fraud by using your personal vehicle to provide transportation services.
It had happened to my brother's in law, when his 2014 Toyota minivan got totaled with 4 passengers inside of which one died and 3 ended up in hospital with serious injuries, as result of accident, he is being charged by state with manslaughter and driving without proper insurance.
